• Hairline cracks radiating from sink or cooktop cutouts. These start at inside corners where the fabricator’s radius was too tight or the cutout wasn’t relieved properly. • Surface dulling or whitening in high-use zones. This is usually chemical etching from acidic cleaners or prolonged exposure to hard water deposits, not a material defect. The range depends on three factors: slab thickness, edge profile complexity, and whether we need to remove the existing surface without damaging cabinets we didn’t build. We also pull the disposal permit if the existing slab contains silica dust from earlier eras - Santa Clara County requires this for demolition of pre-1990 countertops. DIY or Call Us?
