DIY or Call Us?

There’s a honest line here. A homeowner can safely inspect their own pavers for lippage, measure joint width, and check whether water drains toward the street or pools against the house. You can also lift a single paver with a flat pry bar to check whether the bedding sand is still present or has washed to mud.

Where DIY goes wrong is in the base. Re-leveling pavers without addressing the underlying base failure guarantees the problem returns within one rainy season. Compacting base aggregate properly requires a plate compactor, moisture control, and lift thickness under 8 inches per pass, which most rental equipment and most homeowners don’t manage correctly.
